HAFIZABAD: A private academy's roof collapsed in the Sukheki area, killing seven people, including five children.Three critically ill individuals who were buried beneath the rubble were rescued and transported to a hospital.The deceased also included two brothers. According to details, Farhat Abbas’ son Imran had established an academy in his house in the Farooq Azam neighbourhood of Sukheki.
On the day of the incident, while children were attending tuition classes, the roof of the room suddenly collapsed due to its deteriorated condition. As a result, Haider (son of Manzoor, 9), Rohan (7), Omar (son of Ali, 8), Abdul Rehman (5), Rehan, Imran (son of Farhat, 35), Sarwat Bibi (62), and Sahib Fatima (8) lost their lives.
After three hours of work, Rescue 1122 teams arrived at the scene, removed the bodies from the rubble, and they transported them to a hospital.
Deputy Commissioner of Hafizabad Abdul Razaq, Assistant Commissioner of Pindi Bhattian Jawad Hussain Malik, and other officers arrived at the scene after receiving information. The incident as well as the rescue efforts of Rescue 1122 were reviewed by the deputy commissioner.On this occasion, he met the bereaved families and expressed his heartfelt sorrow and grief over the tragic loss of lives.
He assured the families that the district administration stands with them in this hour of extreme grief and that a thorough investigation will be conducted into the incident from all aspects.
